A neighborhood mainstay – Villa’s yoga studio has retained its small and unique studio vibe. The physical space is clean, intimate and warm, and the teachers are well trained, experienced, and hands on. The classes will keep you intrigued, enlivened, and, ultimately, relaxed.

Yoga will help you create balance in the body through developing strength and flexibility. While some postures are intensely physical, you will also notice their calming effect on the mind.  Through yoga, you will awaken the senses, sweat out toxins, calm the nervous system, and deepen the mind/body connection.

Sequencing and style will vary depending on instructor. While each teacher brings different styles and influences to their classes, you can expect creative classes filled with proper alignment and focus on breath. Refer to our People page to read about each instructor.

Yoga Conditioning:
This class will challenge you to refine your practice and prepare you to take it to the next level. Every class will be different, but you can expect a little flow to get warm, conditioning to build strength and some time to break down postures, particularly arm balances and inversions. Postures you may have wanted to explore more with a teacher, but didn’t have the time in a typical vinyasa flow class. Think about what’s on your yogic bucket list and please come with requests!

Yoga with Sound:
Infusing the ancient art of Naad or Sound Yoga with the traditional practice of Hatha yoga, the intention is for this class to balance both subtle and gross energies of the mind and body through Movement, Breath, and Sound tools such as Gongs, Singing bowls, Yaki Drums, Didgeree Doos, Koshi chimes, and Flutes.

Yin Yoga:
Welcome for everybody willing to benefit from stretching muscles, stressing connective tissue and settling into stillness as we hold poses 5-10 minutes. Guided through a series of poses and gentle breath-work, intelligently designed to align flow of energy in the body, inviting our attention away from mental chatter into our wisdom within. Inspired by Chinese medicine, Yin is our quieter, softer side to Yang, being more energetic and strong, both necessary for healthy balance. Compliment to active lifestyle or aid in various forms of recovery by increasing circulation in the joints, improving flexibility and cultivating awareness.

Power Yoga:
Mindful Movements for building inner strength.

Pilates Mat:
Deepen your Pilates apparatus or yoga practice with Pilates based floor work. Floor work provides the balance of strength and flexibility for optimum functional and postural alignment which is complementary to any form of exercise and daily life. Each class will vary but will include principles based on correct core work activation, Classical Pilates exercises created by Joseph Pilates, variations of Pilates exercises using props emphasizing core strength, flexibility and coordination. Floor work is challenging and it engages the entire body and mind while having fun.
