Jill Ann was first introduced to mat Pilates and yoga as part of a modern dance training at the age of 13. She attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and was exposed to many forms of movement theories and philosophies. She continued taking Pilates and Yoga as a conditioning tool for dance throughout college, where she was encouraged by her mentor, Karen Clippinger MSPE, to get a BASI Pilates with dance specialization certificate, which she did in 2004. In 2009, Jill Ann also received her 200 hour yoga certification through YogaWorks. Other than through dance conditioning bringing these beautiful art forms to her life, she also began practicing Pilates and Yoga to help balance out the musculature imbalances she had as child. It also helped fuel a passion to help others help themselves – a passion that continues as she expands my knowledge base to nutrition and other aspects of health.
